Shannon Mitchell is a Game Designer turned Futuryst. Her mission is to help us get better at engaging with our shared futures.
Bustle recognized Shannon as a "Woman Redefining What It Means To Work In STEM” for her work as co-owner of GameTheory, where she partners with impact-driven organizations, industries, and communities like USDA, Vermont Professionals of Color Network, United Way, the State of VT, and the International Youth Foundation to build futures we believe deserve to exist. She specializes in utilizing innovation, technology, and social impact to make the hard parts of future-building the fun parts.
Over the past 10 years she has worked alongside global partners to create hundreds of adventurous solutions across research, education, healthcare, economic equity, energy, civics, and agriculture. These solutions range from digital tools, apps, games, and platforms to organizational strategies and community engagements like This Way Up!, Daily Drop, and the Good Citizen Challenge. Shannon believes futures are grounded in the power of art, tech, and education. To that end, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College, a local event organizer, IGDA mentor, and Board Member for the Women Business Owner's Netowork.
